Areas of brain - Internal Cerebral Cortex

CategoryComplex Brains
LocationRack and row to be confirmed

Description

The vibrant colours reveal the functional organization hidden along the medial surface of the brain. This surface contains important extensions of the motor and sensory cortices, particularly areas representing the lower limb, along with regions involved in vision, memory, emotion and behaviour. Colour coding transforms these closely arranged cortical areas into a striking functional map, allowing visitors to appreciate how movement, sensation and higher functions are precisely organized within the cerebral cortex.
