Areas of brain - External Cerebral Cortex

CategoryComplex Brains
LocationRack and row to be confirmed

Description

This colourful brain maps the sensory and motor areas of the cerebral cortex, showing how different regions perform specific functions. Motor areas control voluntary movements of the body, while sensory areas receive and interpret sensations such as touch, pain, temperature, vision, hearing, taste and body position. Association areas connect and integrate these functions, contributing to language, memory, recognition and purposeful behaviour. The contrasting colours make these otherwise invisible functional boundaries easy to identify, compare and remember.
