Description

Lateral Ventricles

The corpus callosum forms the roof of the lateral ventricles and its fibers, particularly from the body and splenium, are known as the tapetum and lie across the body and postero-inferior part of the ventricles.

Septum Pellucidum

The corpus callosum forms the superior and anterior border of the septum pellucidum, a thin membrane that separates the lateral ventricles.

Fornix

The fornix is located below the septum pellucidum and serves as its inferior border. It is also in close proximity to the corpus callosum.

Diencephalon

Located below the corpus callosum, the diencephalon includes structures like the thalamus, hypothalamus, subthalamus, and epithalamus, and is situated superior to the brainstem.

Cerebral Cortex

The corpus callosum's fibers connect various areas of the left and right cerebral cortex, the outermost layer of the brain.
