Alzheimer's brain

Alzheimer's disease is a progressive neurological disorder that causes a decline in memory, thinking skills, and the ability to perform daily tasks. It is the most common form of dementia and is caused by complex changes in the brain, such as the abnormal buildup of proteins called amyloid and tau, which lead to nerve cell damage and death. Symptoms begin with difficulty remembering recent events and gradually worsen to include confusion, behavioral changes, and problems with language and reasoning.
